We invite all who would like to know more about traditional printing techniques to our first workshop with professional artist. Mark Antonius Puhkan, whose artworks are presented in Flash Art Gallery Spring-Summer season 2025, will guide you through the interactive and meditative hands-on workshop,

All participants will get a unique glimpse into the techniques Mark uses as an artist. You’ll learn how to carve your own image into a piece of
lino and create a print on paper using a traditional hand-printing method. By the end of the session, everyone will have their own A5-sized lino print to take home.

***Mark Antonius Puhkan is an Estonian artist, illustrator, and educator. His artistic practice primarily focuses on drawing and printmaking techniques. As an illustrator, his favorite medium is graphic novels, but he also incorporates comic elements into his work beyond the book format.
The central theme of his work is the relationship between humans and wild nature – both the nature surrounding us and the wildness within. Mark is driven by a desire to rebuild the bridges of empathy between diverse ecosystems and the civilized human world.
In his creations, he strives to give form to the invisible – to things that are often unseen or lack a visual representation. He visualizes intangible elements such as sounds, thoughts, emotions, energies, scents, and dreams, transforming them into symbolically expressive visual forms.

You’ll be dazzled at the answer – it in fact features the Violin’s Prince of Darkness himself…..virtuoso, maestro, impresario, 19th century heartthrob, the unrivalled spectacle of his time (and still ours!) – the man who wrote violin pieces impossible to play…Niccolo Paganini! Join famed Irish/Australian Virtuoso and celebrated Concertmaster Liam Keneally on a journey of discovery.

Once you enter the auditorium you’ll begin to feel your heart throb to the sublime melodies of Eduard Tubin’s Estonian Folk Song Suite. You’ll then be immediately launched onto your feet for a rousings collection of toe-tapping jigs, reels and hornpipes! Expect to also shed a tear (or more) during Liam’s rhapsodic renditions of his most beloved fiddle tunes – Danny Boy and Greensleeves.

To cap off the evening, we face the Devil himself as Liam attempts a live rendition of the fiendishly difficult Paganini Caprice No.24. You’ll be aware that Paganini’s pieces have for now over two centuries been considered impossible to play by most violinists. Liam will put this to the test – you’ll gasp at the impossible speed, brilliance and blind talent Liam must conjure up to execute it.

From 1th to ‘th of May the works of Liis Tedre, one of the prominent Estonian artist presented in the FLASH ART Gallery, were exhibited at the gallery’s stand at Paper Positions Berlin, one of the key fairs dedicated to graphic art.

On May 24th at 15.00 Liis will talk about the series “Relationships”, “Water Visions” and “Where?” presented at the Berlin fair, about the techniques of color cyanotype and relief printing in which she works, about the sources of finding motifs and ideas in her art, and will show a video of the process of creating her works.
